One balmy night in Houston, the summer before Mat proposed, we sat around a metal table discussing how adoption might be a picture of the gospel while we sipped from condensation covered water glasses. Eight years later we have watched those words build into mountains of paperwork and hours of interviews. We have completed all of the necessary steps to be an adoptive family through Christian Homes and Family Services. Now we wait. For how long we don’t know. Faye asks me everyday if her “sister” is coming over and if she can hold her. I tell her that a sibling will come one day and when that baby arrives I will help her wrap her little arms around him or her. I also tell her that right now we have to be very patient.

I will keep this section updated with links to our adoption information, resources, and any blog posts on adoption.
